Welcome to Fjellborg Arctic Journeys, Premier Dog Sledding Expeditions in Arctic Lapland

Drive your own dog team from the Arctic Ocean across the high alpine area of northernmost Sweden to the Fjellborg Homestead in the heart of Lapland. This springtime mountain expedition allows you to experience some of the finest sceneries that Lapland has to offer during the most enjoyable time of the year. 6-day program.

The program begins in Tromsø in Norway where you are greeted at the airport by Fjellborg Arctic Journeys. Tromsø is the capital of Arctic Norway and due to the many polar expeditions that have begun here the city is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Ice Sea". The city’s urban mountain panorama is truly spectacular and thanks to its rich café and cultural life the lively city of Tromsø has also been nicknamed the Paris of the North. On the first evening you will be briefed on the expedition itinerary and after a welcome dinner we round off the evening in the Sky Bar.

On the next day we transfer out to the beautiful Signal Valley which is the starting point for our journey. Here you are introduced to the team of dogs who will be your best friends during the coming days. The friendly and athletic Fjellborg Alaskan Huskies are bred to run on instinct and desire and know nothing better than to embark on a major expedition. Before departure you will receive instructions on how to handle the dogs and how to pack and drive your sled.

During this unique adventure you will experience the most spectacular scenery that Arctic Lapland has to offer. The journey begins in the Signal Valley on the border between Norway and Sweden. From here the trail climbs up to a mountain plateau where we traverse the largest area of permafrost in Europe. From the magnificent mountains we continue to the remote lake district of Råstojaure in the heart of indigenous Sami country.

After Camp Råsto the trail continues in a southerly direction, towards the large Lake Torne and the Torne River. Here we stay in a genuine Lapland Homestead in the remote village of Kattuvouma in the high alpine region of northernmost Sweden. From Kattuvuoma we continue to the new lodge in Sevuvuoama which offers a delightful overnight stay in beautiful surroundings.

On the last day of our expedition we sled from Sevuvouma to the Fjellborg Homestead in Poikkijärvi – only a short walk from the world famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi.
